beggars opera

IMG_0917

Every summer I get a ladder from the wagon bays and up go the canvas back drops from the Beggars Opera, shading the gazebo during rehearsal period until we can rehearse on the show’s outdoor stage. I’m not even sure when Beggars Opera was done-  in the 90’s- painted by Molly March. Faded, tattered and decaying. They are still beautiful and magic.

I just noticed the mop bucket in the background and remembered when I took this picture last summer, I’d spent most of the afternoon mopping up a four foot radius of Great Horned Owl shit all over that floor.
