IMG_4530Skokomina is Chinook -the common language used during the fur-trade- for American Dipper.

IMG_4531IMG_4532The Skokomina headdress was my favorite of Catherine’s designs. Skokomina was the funniest character in the play. She was so mischievous and made me laugh consistently every night. The morning of closing I found a bird in flying around the designery. I propped open the door till it found it’s way out. Looking at pictures of American dippers I’m pretty certain it was one of these birds.

IMG_4541Duck, Beaver, Deer, Packrat & Skunk. The nine local kids in the winter show were amazing. Troopers through all sorts of weather; from rain storms and ice fields to howling winds, minus 21 celsius and two feet of snow falling. Hawk was a champ watching out for all of them.
